Eco-friendly is a term that we are more and more accustomed to hear. But what does it mean? According to Merriam-Webster it means not environmentally harmful. In other words, cause no damage to nature. We are now in the era where Global warming issues is more then just an environmental issue, it's also political. As we all are citizen of the planet earth, we all share the responsibility of its condition. Generations after generations, it seems that the quality of nature perishes sadly but surely.
However, a growing number of people are concerned about the preservation of local green spaces as well as the wonders of the world. Not all of us are a Greenpeace activist nor Greta Thunberg. She's a young Swedish environmental activist known to be an outspoken climate change advocate. Each of us has the power to make a decision on 1 or more elements that aims to protect the planet and collectively can have an enormous impact. Take for example Canada, only 9% of the 3 million tonnes of plastic waste each year is recycled. This means that 91% of this plastic ends up in our waters and lands and thus threatens the ecosystem. 2 million 730 000 tonnes each year is a burden for the economy as well as a great risk for the health of the environment. Now imagine if each Canadian cut in half their plastic waste. Everyone's effort contributes to a collective good.
